■Amount of travel
The catalog drawing size is the state of travel 0°, and taking this as reference, the degrees rotated in the left and right directions is the amount of travel.

■Load capacity
is the force in N that the positioning stage can withstand when the center of gravity of the workpiece is in the center of the positioning stage. If used in excess of the load capacity, the positioning stage may not move properly or get stuck. Refer to the values of "Horizontal" and "Vertical" for the load resistance for horizontal and vertical installation respectively. Note that when the linear motion positioning stage is installed vertically or upside down, the accuracy may be less than the value indicated in the catalog.

■Lateral misalignment
refers to the amount of deviation from the rotation center.

Product Features
Feature 1: The body is made of aluminum alloy to achieve light weight
Feature 2: Low price is achieved by simplifying the structure and improving the machining process.
Feature 3: Through holes are set to enable cable routing, positioning of rotary polarization elements, etc.
Feature 4: By improving the clamping mechanism, the holding force of the positioning stage is greater than that of the standard type clamping mechanism.
Example of Use
MISUMI Case Study on the Use of Economy Series Manual Positioning StagesMechanism name: Temperature sensor position adjustment during thermal crimping of camera module

Rotary stage used: E-RPG60

Purpose: Combined with straight operation XZ-axis dovetail stage to control the sensor detection angle for accurate measurement.
Usage Method
■Installation Method of Rotary Stage
When mounting the stage to the base, basically it is mounted by moving the stage surface. Refer to the following diagram.
Installation Method of MISUMI Manual X-Axis Rotary Stage
The above diagram is for demonstration purpose only. Refer to each catalog or 3D data for detailed shapes and specifications of the positioning stage.
Precautions for Surface Precision of Mounting Part
When the components mounted on the bottom or top of the positioning stage are not flat enough, the product may fail to operate with intended performance. (Reference standard of flatness: within 10μm)

■Mounting posture of rotary stage
Load capacity and accuracy will change greatly due to its mounting posture. Please use the following characteristics table as rough reference for the usability in a particular mounting posture.
The rotary stage cannot be mounted inversely, or its performance may change greatly.
It can be side-mounted, but can be used only when the load is applied in the direction of micrometer knob; it cannot be used for applications where no load is applied to the micrometer knob (see the diagram below).

Frequently asked question (FAQ)

Question: When a rotary stage is finely adjusted using a micrometer knob, how many degrees will the stage surface rotate as the micrometer knob moves 1mm?
Answer: The micrometer knob moves 6.5mm as the stage surface rotates 10°. In other words, the stage surface rotates 1.538° as the micrometer knob moves 1mm.
Question: What is the difference between lateral misalignment and surface runout of a rotary stage?
Answer: Lateral misalignment refers to the displacement of a rotating central shaft in horizontal direction. Surface runout refers to the max. displacement difference relative to the reference plane after rotating one full turn, taking the outer edge of the stage moving surface fixed on the reference surface as the point of measurement. Both are in the unit of μm.
Question: When using a manual rotary stage, is it normal that the clamping device on the opposite side of the micrometer knob still moves even locked after positioning?
Answer: MISUMI manual rotary stages can be finely adjusted after rough positioning. First of all, please lock the rough adjusting & clamping part according to the following steps: ①Adjust the feeding part to the destination (360° adjustable) ②Lock and fix the rough adjusting & clamping part ③Adjust the micrometer to the destination ④Lock the fine adjusting & clamping part.
Question: Does a reverse manual rotary stage also have a reverse direction (counterclockwise) of reading (0~360°)?
Answer: The direction of reading (0~360°) is clockwise for both R (forward) and L (reverse)?
